MSN Channel Nine Adelaide relocated to Hindmarsh Square for modernization, upgrading IT and production facilities to enhance audience service.


SPACE
MSN Nine Sydney's relocation partnered with Designthink, a key player in Capsule Projects, for a successful collaboration on the modernization project. The design team crafted a detailed return brief for the HQ, including relationship diagrams and component lists. The project involved renovating three levels of the office, integrating studios like the News Studio, technical facilities, and advanced IT infrastructure to meet all needs efficiently.

Bringing the beach to Stella's eatery & lounge:
Mission: Revive the beach vibes and Italian cuisine at iconic Henley spot, Stella's, is crystal clear.
Designthink reimagined the iconic seaside spot, drawing inspiration from Italy's Amalfi coast and Adelaide’s coastal landscape. The 20-year-old eatery underwent a transformation with diverse textures and a vibrant citrus ambiance, blending Amalfitana influences with local charm.


SPACE
Stella's revamped look and layout bring a new vibe for customers to enjoy. The redesign features a stunning rock wall, inviting fireplace, and a kitchen sneak peek. By introducing views of the sea and increasing natural light, the restaurant now exudes a coastal dining feel. This transformation signifies a move towards a more vibrant and welcoming dining setting, departing from its former subtle ambiance.

Creating a modern, timeless 4-bedroom residence on a challenging plot with strict planning limits within budget was a demanding task. This sophisticated house, designed with meticulous care and advanced technology, offers a unique opportunity to own a luxurious property in a prestigious neighborhood.

Creating a home on a triangular plot can be tricky, but this residence maximized its 525m space. With 3 bedrooms, 2 living areas, a bathroom, and an ensuite, it includes open living areas with a pantry. The design includes several courtyards for views and luxury.

DESIGN FEATURES

Sophisticated classic style enriched with a modern touch, featuring sleek black ceramic finishes.

Victorian cove cornice and timber panel wall embellishments

The master bedroom features high-end designer joinery, including oak drawers, shelves, and ample hanging space. Attic ladder leads to roof, halo-lit mirrors, LED colors, and chic pendant lighting add sophistication.

The result is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, offering a refreshing dining experience in the heart of Adelaide.

The iconic building's existing fabric was utilized, with plywood paneled walls, concrete floors, and a ceiling adorned with 8000 wine bottles. A standout feature is the A120 wine bottle dispensary machine. This reimagined space now serves as a captivating focal point for wine enthusiasts at the prestigious Adelaide location.

Innovative Cotto Designs
Designthink was given the challenge of revamping Cotto cafes into personalized boutique cafes, inspired by Italian paninotecas, to highlight authenticity and freshness.
 

SPACE
For its initial location, Design Think skillfully revealed the brickwork and heritage beams of the base building, unveiling a stunning heritage staircase that even impressed heritage consultants. The design was perfected by incorporating industrial elements like overhead shelving and displays, maintaining the essence of the previous Cotto's fitouts.
The industrial style venue provided a striking backdrop for the innovative 'paninoteca' concept, showcasing new recipes openly and elegantly. The design aimed to create a sensory feast, with every interior element carefully curated to impress and engage visitors.

A church is being renovated to become the new home and office of Designthink, combining historical preservation with modern functionality to reflect their contemporary identity through architectural and interior design choices.
 

SPACE
Expansion to an A-frame structure added a second level and mezzanine, creating space for luxurious features like a master bedroom, parent's retreat, and a second bathroom. The main floor now includes an office, open-plan living area, two large bedrooms, a laundry room, cellar, and a main bathroom for functionality and space optimization.
 

DESIGN FEATURES

Bespoke terrazzo sinks & tubs
Italian white travertine tiles and concrete freestanding baths evoke a luxurious hotel vibe in this space.

The concept originated with the installation of a sculptural pattern using oak sticks, seamlessly linking different areas with intricate timber cuts. This unified approach was extended to acoustic panels, enabling versatile use of the spaces across different scenarios.

Revamping staff rooms into versatile STEM learning spaces with film studios and collaborative zones for enriched educational experiences is our goal.

The project includes diverse learning spaces, collaboration areas, creative zones, a darkroom, staff prep area, and a covered outdoor learning space.

Collaborating with Woodville Primary School's leadership, educators, and students, along with Giordano & Associates, to transform STEM facilities. Enhancing learning environments for modern education.

SPACE

Enhancing the interior by extending it outward to create more external areas, fostering collaboration and a spacious student environment.

Incorporating a creative "W" motif through details like carpet overlays and acoustic panels gives the school space a distinct identity, boosting its ambiance and paving the way for future branding opportunities.

School colors were updated to blue and yellow from green and gold for a modern, refreshed appearance.

The successful project is prompting us to expand the scope to enhance the front-of-house reception areas, providing a fresh look for the school entrance.

Several café branches in Hyde Park, Prospect, Glenelg, and Woodville featuring Cotto's Commercial Kitchen.
Designthink, known for their food industry and franchise sector expertise, set a high standard in architecture and interior design by seamlessly entering the café scene with a fresh approach.

Il Mercato was designed to offer upscale food without alienating any customers. The interior needed to strike a balance to communicate this effectively. The design approach focused on displaying all products by eliminating existing ceilings, dispelling the notion of it being a typical supermarket.
Concealing the structure and creating a more spacious interior enhances design impact, improving product display, visual appeal, and clear area demarcation with prominent graphics and signage, resulting in an amplified overall effect.
